Aaron David Ross is a New York based composer, producer, and new media artist whose work explores music’s affective potentiality. In addition to being one half of the Gatekeeper duo, Aaron releases solo recordings, composes music for film, tv, and advertising productions, and maintains a practice of live performance and sound installation. With a background in classical composition and an interest in contemporary art and technology practices, Aaron’s work balances irony and true belief. As a recording artist, he has released music with Kompakt subsidiary Fright (DE), Merok (UK), Hippos in Tanks (US), Public Information (UK), Presto (IT), and Rainbow Body (US). His work has been reviewed in The New York Times, Fader, Dazed & Confused, Pitchfork, and Interview. It has been exhibited at galleries and museums including Saatchi Gallery in Paris, The Creator’s Project in Beijing, and the MoMA PS1 in New York. Aaron received a BM in composition and an MFA in Sound Arts & Music Technology from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
