Casey MQ is a Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, musician, and producer who blurs the borders between ambient production and melancholic soul. His distorted club music and electronic pop is rooted in textural world-building and the excavation of personal truth. Known for his 2020 breakthrough album babycasey, the classically-trained pianist gave voice to songs seen through the lens of childhood, various film score work, and collaborations with artists such as Oklou, Eartheater, and Shygirl.
His new album via Ghostly, Later that day, the day before, or the day before that, explores the fluidity of known truth through piano-led, subconscious writing. Blending electronica with vivid, baroque pop balladry, the album reflects on the malleability of recollection, creating a dynamic, introspective sound that mirrors the shifting nature of our memories. Casey is also a co-founder of the queer virtual Club Quarantine that has hosted artists such as Charli XCX, Tinashe, Pabllo Vittar, Lady Gaga, and others.
