Vika Kirchenbauer has been making music as COOL FOR YOU since 2015. The Berlin-based multidisciplinary artist crafts ambiguous atmospheres of ostensibly contradicting emotions within unusual time signatures, evoking uncanny euphoria, subtle anxiety and encompassing beauty. Refiguring old Christian congregational music in regards to its entanglement with imperial projects, Kirchenbauer explores the choir as a space for dissonance. She has released two EPs and performed at events and institutions such as Donaufestival, ngbk, 3hd, transmediale and Videonale, while her debut album, COMMUNAL MESS, comes out in May 2019 via Creamcake.
