Doireann O’Malley, Lives and works in Berlin, Germany. Prototypes was the winner of The Berlin Art Prize 2018 and has been exhibited in The Hugh Lane Gallery, Dublin, Edith Russ Haus für Medienkunst, Oldenburg and has been screened in Bobs Pogo Bar, KW, Berlin. Doireann is currently participating on The Berlin Program for Artists and has upcoming shows in Nordenhake, Mexico City and Göteborg Biennial. Working primarily with moving image, Analogue and digital film formats, 3d imaging, found footage, video and photography. Currently working on a body of films which explore gender, its manifestations in a post speculative mind/body architectural project called Interbau Project.

Exploring new perspectives on trans identity through the lens of a post psycho-analytic, schizo-analytic methodology of rhizomatic consciousness, learning and quantum transformation. Constructed though moving images with bodies in gender transitions, affect and systems theory, 3D scanning, sound and voice. The methodology approaches the exploration of multiple subjectivities with Trans- protagonists through dream analysis & group psycho-analytic workshops, exploring the multi layered unconscious. Scenes produced by the characters in the films as starting points to explore the manifestation of gender beyond desire and the ego drives.
