Francesca Mariano is Milan-based artist whose practice moves freely between the borders of dance and sound. She trained in postmodern dance with Anna Halprin and integrates landscape, archaeology and feminist sensitivities into her evolving palette of choreography, music production, and sound installation.
Heart’s practice expands in its educational application and through workshops that have a focus on an interdisciplinary method of somatic research and exploration. While also working on commissioned choreography and music scores for film, fashion, theater, and documentary, she also released her latest album, Eurybia, via Leaving Records in 2022. She has performed and exhibited in international venues and institutions, including The Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Rewire Festival, Museo Madre, Fondazione Sozzani, Valentino, and Club to Club, and is also part of the Room to Bloom (2020-2023) feminist platform for ecological and postcolonial narratives of Europe, and SHAPE+ in 2023 and 2024.
