Isabel is a Berlin-based independent curator working at the intersection of feminist technoscience and art, and currently a PhD candidate in Curatorial Practice at Reading University and Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). Recent curatorial projects include ‘REAL WORK’ (FACT Liverpool, 2019), ‘Making Worlds: Art & Science Fiction’ (diffrakt Berlin, 2018), ‘Arrival of Time’ (Martin-Gropius-Bau Berlin, 2017) and AxS Residency (Pasadena Arts Council, L.A., 2016). Her texts have been published in SFRA Review (Science Fiction Research Association, Winter 2019), ‘Technofeminist Practices in the 21st Century’ (ed. Cornelia Sollfrank, Transversal, 2018) and ‘Jokebook’ (nGbK Verlag, 2015), and she was editor in 2016 of ‘The Body Electric: Theo Eshetu’ (DAAD Berlin). As a speaker she has recently contributed to ‘New Suns: A Feminist Literary Festival’ (Barbican Centre London, 2019), ‘OPEN SCORES. How to program the Commons’ (panke.gallery Berlin, 2019), transmediale Berlin (2019) and ‘Producing Futures: Post-Cyber-Feminisms’ (Migros Museum Zurich, 2019).

In her current research, Isabel explores the potential of science fictional narratives for “reprogramming the present” through the projects ‘M/others and Future Humans’ (Multispecies Salon & Laboratory for Aesthetics and Ecology) and ‘WE WILL HAVE BEEN: A Case for Curating in the SF Mode’ (PhD, working title).
Isabel is currently lecturer at NODE Center for Curatorial Studies (Berlin) and guest lecturer since 2016 at California Institute of the Arts (L.A.).
