Jazmina Figueroa is a Berlin-based writer focusing on what correlates with entropy through recordings, performance, prose, and creative essays. Also spanning a curatorial practice, Figueroa’s writing works with the critical and personal frame of reference to expanded media cultures, inner narratives shaped by technological developments, and the performative and affective capacity of media as spectacle. Specific interests lie in the embodied, canonical, and socio-political underpinnings of constructing such frameworks.

Between 2020 and 2022, Figueroa co-founded open-ended action network tbc. and was a fellow at Akademie Schloss Solitude. She has published in Texte Zur Kunst, Flash Art, and Artforum, among others magazines, along with essay commissions and exhibition texts for Montez Press, March, Navel, and Valiz. Recent works include Arrangements In Place, published by TLTRPreß in 2022, and 2021 performance lecture Call Signs for ZKM Karlsruhe where she was artist-in-residence in 2021. A new work in progress, titled “The Tumult” was conceived by Figueroa during a research residency at Gessnerallee Theatre in Zürich.
