Kara-Lis Coverdale works in both acoustic and electronic media to create works that transcend reality. Born in Burlington, Canada with Estonian heritage and classically trained, the composer, musician and producer’s work is driven by a patient devotion to sonic afterlife, memory, and material curiosity. Previous releases include A 480, Aftertouches, Triptych for Solo Piano and Grafts, as well as collaborations with Philadelphia noise artist David Sutton and Tim Hecker, and production credits with Marilyn Manson, How To Dress Well and Lee Bannon. Coverdale’s world-building work occupies new planes built upon a borderless understanding of electronic music rooted in the interlocking pathways of musical systems and languages.
