Kinlaw is a New York–based artist, composer, and choreographer whose practice merges sound, movement, and endurance-based performance. Their work explores control and the physical and psychological demands of live performance, exploring themes ranging from exhaustion, class divides, and the body as an instrument.
Having presented work at institutions including MoMA, MoMA PS1, MOCA Los Angeles, and the New Museum, Kinlaw will debut “gut ccheck” in Berlin at Creamcake’s 3hd Festival. Their practice extends beyond performance into teaching and publishing, with their first 180-page book—part diary, part manifesto—arriving in 2025, offering an intimate lens into her process and methodology. Kinlaw is currently preparing “FALL RISK,” a large-scale performance to be staged from a 128-foot crane in Times Square in spring 2026.
