Michelle Pfeiffer is a doctoral student in the department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University. She holds an MA in Social and Cultural Analysis from NYU and a Bachelors in Literature and History from the Amsterdam University College. Her research examines the role of sound and audibility as crucial sensory registers in border and migration control, security infrastructures, and the genealogies of colonialism. Michelle has received a doctoral research fellowship from the Berlin Program at Freie Universität Berlin. She is an alumna of the German National Academic Foundation.
