Sebastián Gómez (pronoun indifferent), philosopher and researcher specialized in digital cultures and gaming, is a doctoral candidate and member of the Gamification Lab at the Institute of Culture and Aesthetics of Digital Media, Leuphana University of Lüneburg, Germany. Sebastián’s research is concerned with gamification processes in the development of algorithmic governmentality.

Adopting a posthumanist and intersectional framework, the project explores the material configurations of digital gaming technologies in the perpetuation of structures of exclusion. In Chile, Sebastián has published in the journal Aisthesis on the biopolitical notions of the body in digital cultures, as well as on the marginality assigned to Latin America’s gaming culture in the (post)colonial order.
