Sophia Goodfriend is a scholar, activist, and poet pursuing a PhD in Cultural Anthropology. She works at the intersection of critical security studies, visual studies, and governmentality, focusing on how Israel’s occupation is changing in the digital present. Her work examines how Israeli violence is perpetuated, packaged, and sold as a digital commodity, and asks how colonized people from Palestine to the United States are contesting transnationalized surveillance states and their shared tactics of control. Her writing has been featured in Mondoweiss, the Electronic Intifada, Highshelf Press, and Capacious (forthcoming).
