Blending temporality, geography, and technology, her sci-fi narratives explore themes of diaspora, generational shifts, survival, violence, and desire where the future and past converge.

Comilang’s work has recently been shown at Thyssen Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, Tai Kwun Hong Kong, London’s Tate Modern, Julia Stoschek Collection in Berlin, and Munich’s Haus der Kunst, among others. Comilang was awarded the 2019 Sobey Art Award, Canada’s most prestigious art prize for artists 40 years and younger.
