Via App (aka Dylan Scheer) is a Brooklyn-based experimental synthesist, sonic field researcher, electronic composer and performer, and club chaos creator. They are best known for their acrobatic, narrative, and ever-transmuting live sets, while their studio recordings partly exist as documentation of these performances. Recording, releasing tapes and performing since 2011, Scheer often produces live recordings stitched together. They have dropped singles via Country Music and BANK Records, as well as a debut album, Sixth Stitch, through Break World Records. They have produced remixes of Karen Gwyer and Osheyack of Shanghai’s SVBKVLT, and featured on compilations for Allergy Season, Objekt’s Kern Vol. 3 and Bergsonist’s Bizaar Bazaar, among others. As well as being very active performing, curating and organizing in NYC experimental/queer/club scenes, Scheer frequently tours internationally, and has a forthcoming second album due for release on PTP this year.
