Yawning Portal is a London-based musical duo producing an ethereal ambient melt of rich synth textures, vocal samples, field recordings, and sound design that inhabits a euphoric position on the hyperpop and deconstructed club music continuum. Consisting of Jessica Walker and Joseph Ware, the indefinable project self-describes as “an opening to other worlds, a transmutation, a prayer.”

Along with releases via Slagwerk, Club Paradiso, and YEAR0001, Yawning Portal’s Heart & Earth EP was released on Vegyn’s PLZ Make It Ruins label in 2020. They also co-wrote and co-produced the Notice the Direction of Fires soundtrack for Lydia Ourahmane’s Survival in the Afterlife exhibition in collaboration with the artist. Yawning Portal guides its listeners through to the other side. Expect the unexpected.
