Rory Pilgrim – The Undercurrent

Release

Berlin’s Creamcake label is pleased to announce the release of the EP The Undercurrent by Rory Pilgrim, out on 1st August, 2021

“The Undercurrent” was presented as part of 3hd 2020: “UNHUMANITY” festival week. Telling of urgent contemporary issues through music, it is a statement on the era of the climate crisis. It creates connections between art, activism and spirituality, while exploring community-building locally and globally, offline and online. “The Undercurrent” was made over a period of two months through workshops, field trips and vlogs, and filmed in Boise, Idaho, with 10 young climate activists and the surrounding towns. While this environmental emergency appears to be the most important theme, these participants explore how climate change interconnects with other aspects of their lives, including family, difficulties with religion, friendship, fighting for gender equality and the essential needs of a household.
