We are delighted to welcome composer Nobukazu Takemura at Tokyo’s Hara Museum of Contemporary Art on August 25 & 26. The internationally-renowned Japanese artist has established a strong reputation over his career, exploring different modes of musical expression in jazz and electronica, as well as working as a club DJ since the 90s. Takemura also employs other forms, through painting, installation, composing music for fashion designer Issey Miyake, and participating in contemporary art festival Roppongi Crossing.
Takemura’s new work ‘Time Remaining – music for 4 players’ will be performed by N.T Ensemble, an orchestral group formed by the artist to expand on his ongoing research into the relationship between language and sound, while utilising text and images, within electronic music.
Special opening acts will be held on both dates:

‘Time Remaining- music for 4 players’ by Nobukazu Takemura with an artist talk
‘Fugue: Some Temporal Patterns Other Than the Forward March,’ a musical performance by Frankfurt-based composer and artist IKU
Saturday, August 26
