WHO HURT YOU? is influenced by Jake Lamotta, Kenneth McMillan’s Manon and the film Showgirls. Lamotta, a championship boxer, married Denise Baker, then suffered the long term effects of his job and experienced dementia. Baker put Lamotta in an autobiographical Las Vegas show, mostly without his realisation, and he played out his life to an audience half conscious. Our Manon is in Vegas lost in a state of PTSD amnesia as the performers-cum-directors exploit their trauma to its inevitable conclusion.
