Astrid Sonne is a Danish composer, producer and viola player, currently based in London. Electronic experiments breathe side by side with baroque approaches, and improvised passages are incorporated into precisely cut compositions with intuitive grace. Her latest album ‘outside of your lifetime’ was released on Danish imprint Escho in September 2021, following critically acclaimed previous works ‘Cliodynamics’ and ‘Human Lines’ (both also with Escho).
Key performances and commissions to date include: Berlin Atonal – where she performed new work Ephemeral with a choir, Rewire Festival – who commissioned her to write and perform Cycles of Lost and Found, and Strøm Festival – where she unveiled site specific compositions for the ruins under the Danish Parliament and a stretch of the Copenhagen Metro.
