CLIP’s work appears to offer a euphoric escape at first-listen, with her brand of electronic-infused emo rap laid over dreamy beats. On second-listen, it becomes clear that it is instead a glimpse into the 23-year old’s own reality; her lyricism is intimate, influenced by her own life experiences. The aural contrast of fantasy and reality in both CLIP’s work and presence has attracted a strong following since her debut. Before going independently viral (her breakout track »Sad B!tch« currently sits at 5 million streams and counting), the NY-native artist was a 4.2 GPA student whose future seemed set on the Ivy League route. Her life took a turn when she ran away in her late teens to escape her living situation and cultivated a core group of friends and artists in NYC. Her newfound community of collaborators and sense of inspiration ultimately led to the creation of CLIP.

CLIP dropped »Calvin K« in late 2021, followed by singles »FALL BACK« and »Hurt U«. These singles led up to the release of her debut EP, PERCEPTION, in late 2022. PERCEPTION garnered critical acclaim from DAZED, The Face, CLASH, Crack, Pitchfork, Hypebeast, The Line Of Best Fit, NME, and The FADER.

CLIP’s unique sense of style has also captured the attention of the fashion world. CLIP fronted the cover of PAPER Magazine November 2022 issue and was photographed for editorial spreads in Interview Magazine and Buffalo Zine. She has also appeared in ad campaigns for Heaven by Marc Jacobs, MADEME, and iGirl.

In 2023, CLIP was named by The Face as one of the »10 Music Acts To Watch in 2023«, was included in the Dazed100 list, and had an original track featured in YEAR0001’s RIFT Two compilation. She has headlined Boiler Room and HEAV3N events and has performed alongside Coco & Clair Clair, Lancey Foux, Coucou Chloe, Father, and Hook. CLIP made her major music festival debut at Rolling Loud NY 2022 and is set to perform at Rolling Loud LA 2023.

As of August 2023
