Elvin Brandhi is an improvising lyricist, producer, and sound artist, who builds aberrant beats from field recordings, tape, vinyl, instruments, and the voice. Using sound and vocals as an expansive language transgressing intrinsic systemics and inherited syntactical etiquettes, the Welsh-born sound artist’s live shows are unyielding bursts of erupting animation, where her caustic stream of consciousness cavorts with restless, glitched out heaviness.
Brandhi’s creative momentum comprises a range of collaborations and an endless roaming. Her first EP, Shelf Life, was released on Lonodn’s C.A.N.V.A.S label in 2018. She is one half of father/daughter noise-improv berserkers Yeah You, and performs in collaborative projects like Avril Spleen, with Joseph Jadame (Maltash), Bahk with Daniel Blumberg, while also contributing to Drew Mcdowall’s Agalma, among many others.
