Isabella Lovestory wants you to feel the way she felt at thirteen years old—unrestrained, full of desire—and euphorically dancing alone to a distorted reggaeton riddim booming on the radio. A synthesis of her childhood experiences, the Montreal-based pop and reggaeton singer shares soundtracks to her memories in her hometown of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Here, she absorbed the music of reggaeton artists like Wisin y Yandel and Plan B, while being exposed to the alternative rock of the likes of The Cure and The Smiths by her radio DJ father, and obsessively transcribing lyrics to pop songs by Britney Spears and Gwen Stefani. 

Later influences include the US rap music of Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne’s Young Money and the like, after moving to the US then Canada as a teenager, as well as the hip hop mutations of MIA, Kreayshawn and Lil B. Lovestory’s music brims with these musical influences but also with the originality and experimentation that they share in her stories of love, sex, life and the rage, ecstasy and humor in it all.
