Roxman Gatt is a Maltese multidisciplinary artist whose work encompasses, text, painting, 3D animation, video, sound, photography, sculpture, installation and performance. Their research explores sexuality, identity, gender and consumption, while ost recently working with themes of humanizing and interacting with consumer objects—making the inanimate iconic and fetishised. Here, mundane aesthetics and the Internet become both a tool and a trigger to produce work.

Recent 2019 exhibitions include “Absinthe §3” at Spit and Sawdust, “Suspended Power” at Arcade East, and “Up is a Relative Concept” at Fold in London, and “4U” at Haus N in Athens. 2018 shows happened at Harlesden Highstreet in London and 650mAh in Brighton, as well Bedwyr Williams’ Visions in the Nunnery, group exhibitions “Here and Now” in Valletta, “An Incomplete inventory in 19 Chapters” at the Malta Pavillion for the 2017 Venice Biennale and Bloomberg New Contemporaries at London’s ICA. Roxman was awarded the Chris Garnham Prize in 2015, as well as the Magnum Showcase Online Photography Award in 2013.
